Difference inferred between these two terms:padfoot wrote:As I said "possible loss of property".kylep wrote:The comment about property was that the fire was going to jump Nicholson Rd and place property under threat.
Property under threat - fire is threatening to damage or destroy
Possible loss of property - possible that property *has* been destroyed, though not confirmed.
To us firefighters, there is a big difference. There are many words and phrases that carry specific meaning, and shouldn't be interchanged with words of different meaning.
cheers
We, Parkerville got stood down from grass fire, Roland x Toodyay, Midland in attendance and Mundaring, West Gidge, Bassendean and Parky backing up with helitacks also called, as it was a Zone 2 call. I think it was just something little as Midland could handle it themselves. Also heard the Walyunga (sp?) spotter tower giving a location on the fire.

Sounds like it's either the Zone 2 response, or that for some reason they saw the need to respond FRS. I think it is more likely the Zone 2 response. You should have details of what the zone 2 response areas and assignments are in your area at your station.

Just seems to me that its coming more common that the FRS guys or VFRS guys are getting to attend a lot more incidents than the BFS guys.
You have East and West Gidge, Parkie, Stonville, and MT Helena all before Mundaring to Roland/Tooday rd Incident. Mt Helena and Parkie having BA I think. Not to sure about the BA part.
