there was a fire in Bakers Hill yesterday approx35 acres burnt people were building a shed and lit a padock up with an angle grinder (acidentaly)
but did not call the fire in we only went because we could see smoke and then reported it. aprox $11000 it cost last night.

As I said "possible loss of property".
Difference inferred between these two terms:
Property under threat - fire is threatening to damage or destroy
Possible loss of property - possible that property *has* been destroyed, though not confirmed.

To us firefighters, there is a big difference. There are many words and phrases that carry specific meaning, and shouldn't be interchanged with words of different meaning.

cheers

Just got back from a DBA and heard East Gidge called to Toodyay & Roland Rds Parkerville (?).

We, Parkerville got stood down from grass fire, Roland x Toodyay, Midland in attendance and Mundaring, West Gidge, Bassendean and Parky backing up with helitacks also called, as it was a Zone 2 call. I think it was just something little as Midland could handle it themselves. Also heard the Walyunga (sp?) spotter tower giving a location on the fire.

Why are Mundaring being Called to all these incidents all the time? They got called to a Mt Helena call the other week (heard it on the radio) and now they get called before Parkie. (also heard it on the radio at work) Whats the GO???? Sounds like someone in comms is up someones arse.....

Sounds like it's either the Zone 2 response, or that for some reason they saw the need to respond FRS. I think it is more likely the Zone 2 response. You should have details of what the zone 2 response areas and assignments are in your area at your station.

That's my understanding - this happens, well, not regularly but it is something that I've noticed for a while now. *shrug*

There are a lot of theory's about this and I am not going to comment on here about this... Thats all I am going to say, as I think it gets quite political from here...

It was a Zone 2 call. You may have heard DM North East call in and remind 6IP that the HMA was Gidgie, as it seemed Midland was calling the shots..

Just seems to me that its coming more common that the FRS guys or VFRS guys are getting to attend a lot more incidents than the BFS guys.

You have East and West Gidge, Parkie, Stonville, and MT Helena all before Mundaring to Roland/Tooday rd Incident. Mt Helena and Parkie having BA I think. Not to sure about the BA part.
