Was quite interesting that they mentioned this thread and the dodgy dealings ALAS & Medicone have had together. ALAS are still dispised for using non qualified staff for transfers (shame that peel health service just cover there eyes blindly to whats going on but i guess they are not toally informed) and medicone who seem to be punching out paramedics by the bucket load who have not had any decent clinical hours once again anyone can study and complete a test if you cant put it into practice whats the point.

I wonder which one will give first.

I know that anyone will be able to do a Cert IV course or Assoc Diploma in W.A after july and actually GET proper clinical hours with an ambulance provider and not some ride along waiting for calls and some actual decent training.
No Surprises there. Many people have the same opinion :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: , Its not just forum users however professionals & Hospitals in the field saying the same thing. After all I was told by a number of friends and associates [Paramedics & ED staff alike] that if I continued to work for A*** I might as well dig myself a grave.. and it would be in my best interests to find a service which is Professional.

Hospitals are waiting for a new service to enter the industry that delivers Patient Care, Qualified Professionals similar to SJA & above to help fill the demands. They just might get what they are wishing for in the near future. :wink:

After all a new Professional Service will benefit all. I'm optimistic it will happen.

:D

Sorry guys, ive escaped.

I was probed in every orifice possible, and I was not always complaining.

Was teaching them how to use a backboard, as now there is no one who has been put through the official training from the manufacturer. It now is all put down to monkey see, monkey do.

Thats totally. People that don't know how to use these pieces of equipment are training (strike that out) showing others how this equipment is used. I suppose if you are going to be shown incorrect usage of backboards, you may as well get everyones bad habits thrown in for free.

Herpes: you hit that topic right on the head.

Who trains the trainer ? You always get the sales rep trying to sell expensive equipment but usually they know didly squat about the item.

Without standards in this state some people seem to be operating there ambulance service to furnish the house before they go broke and in the process putting patients lives at risk.

Now that would make an interesting today/tonight storey "Private ambulance operator running dodgy service in clapped out vans to furnish house"

Storey 1 would go like: I was in the back off the ambulance and the door flung wide open "air conditioning" he said it was i maybe old but im not stupid.
(Storey may not have happened)

Storey 2 would go like: I fell off my bike and was given an enema on the way to hospital the guy said he was a proctologist.
(Storey may not have happened)

Well at least they havent been giving cash under the table to get work outta peel though (oops didnt that happen at rkdh & some people got sacked for that one)

My gears are so grind today

Ive seen an ambulance side door open and a medic give someone the finger, (to a taxis driver) in the middle of Perth. Both parties wanted a lane the other was in.

One has to tell these ALAS people that they are only a glorified taxis service and to become friendly road users or face prosecution. Or was that PROSTITUTION, either way, I'm happy

lol

I dont even think you could call them a glorified taxi service.

I hear that one off them snores pretty loud so loud it wakes the horses up lol must be scarey having those spiders in the japenese ambulance.

Well they could of indicated and let each other move in as the traffic flowed. I don't think they are going to get public support by giving the public the rude finger.:shock: Plus even on lights and sirens the individual must provided a uninterrupted path for the Emergency Automobile if safe to do so. [They can choose to get fined].
This is from the Drive Safe Book..

Aggressive driving includes the following types of behaviour:

* a person driving alongside you, shouting or making obscene gestures, pointing and demanding that you pull over;
* another vehicle following too closely (tailgating you);
* the driver in front slowing down in an attempt to force you to stop;
* a driver flashing headlights and/or sounding the horn continuously; or
* a person getting out of a vehicle and approaching you in a threatening manner.

Herpes you should report this incident if you witnessed it. After all People don't see a company generally they just see a Ambulance. Last thing we want is repercussions on other services because of those dragging the industry into disrepute in the Public Eye.

After all if someone refuses to move for a Ambulance when on a P1 the accepted thing to do is take down the license plate and let the authority's deal with it.
