No Surprises there. Many people have the same opinionMarkmywords wrote:While at QE2 today (on a non related ambulance matter) was talking to a sja crew up on the ward waiting for a patient.
Was quite interesting that they mentioned this thread and the dodgy dealings ALAS & Medicone have had together. ALAS are still dispised for using non qualified staff for transfers (shame that peel health service just cover there eyes blindly to whats going on but i guess they are not toally informed) and medicone who seem to be punching out paramedics by the bucket load who have not had any decent clinical hours once again anyone can study and complete a test if you cant put it into practice whats the point.
I wonder which one will give first.
I know that anyone will be able to do a Cert IV course or Assoc Diploma in W.A after july and actually GET proper clinical hours with an ambulance provider and not some ride along waiting for calls and some actual decent training.

Hospitals are waiting for a new service to enter the industry that delivers Patient Care, Qualified Professionals similar to SJA & above to help fill the demands. They just might get what they are wishing for in the near future.

After all a new Professional Service will benefit all. I'm optimistic it will happen.
