The City of Melville Community Security Service is an in-house Community Patrol Service that patrols both the City of Melville and the City of Cockburn.

They patrol and respond to incidents in all areas of Melville and Cockburn and I can guarantee that they patrol Attadale, I was an Officer with the City of Melville for two years and know Attadale like the back of my hand.

The City of Melville, City of Stirling, City of Bayswater and City of Canning are the only Local Governments with in-house security patrols.

The AFP PS patrol Diplomatic establishments and residences, they live all over Perth and as such you will see the PS cars all over Perth.

See here for more info on Melville.

Not really, the job is pretty good and people generally do it for awhile. When I was there the money sucked but it is much better now. I only left because I got into the Transits otherwise I would probably still be there.

The job is a mixture of all of the emergency services without the full on powers and responsibilities.

I will try and get some info for you from a mate that is still in the job.

cheers daz:)

At the SES we work pretty well with out local council and often delegate jobs between SES units and CSS units which makes everything run much more smoothly, ie last major rush of jobs the CSS were kind enough to attend some of the minor jobs and scout out bits and pieces when they could, top bunch on guys.

Same here DOC.

JW, I spoke to my mate briefly, apparently they are recruiting in the next week or so!!

They dont mind people with no security experiance either as they like training people up, a lot of the work is customer service...remember that.

donks wrote:If your ever on Canning Highway near Preston Point road you will see a few Protective Services cars partolling around Attadale..

This is because they are Hhired by the City of Melville to patrol this suburb... a lot like Chubb security or what not..

At first i thought it was like witness relocation or something.. but i thought thats stupid as the cars stick out like pinocchios nose.
There was a security company, I think it was called Protective Services. Funny how different security companies try to align their name to a govenment related one or similar.
I think they need to do a psych eval on owners of security companies. whats wrong with something like "Old Joe's Night Watchman"???????
