Oh snap

Very nice quality pictures, who pays for the crane SES or the home owner?
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

Crane was organised and paid for by SES (thanks to Glenn Hall MRDC)

Why does the SES pay for the crane and not the owners insurance?

That's for people higher up the ladder than me to discuss
SES may well put a claim to the homeowners insurer to recover the cost, but the initial contract was between the SES & the crane company.

Anyhow, we're not going to turn down the offer of a 65ton crane, whoever's paying for it

Funded by ratepayers under the ESL, same as the firies. You (or your insurance) don't pay the fire brigade to put your house out!
