Second Update
TWO dangerous prison escapees remain at large today after a reported sighting of one at Perth airport proved to be a false alarm.
Police searched the airport after a report that a convicted drug smuggler who was believed to be one of the escapees had tried to board a Qantas flight today.
It was believed the man was one of two drug traffickers who walked out of a West Australian prison farm on Sunday night, a police spokeswoman said.
"But we have confirmed that it was not the escapee at the airport," the spokeswoman said.
Prison squad detectives are still looking for Ilija Vukovic, 29, and Vladan Djurovic, 27, who escaped from the minimum security Karnet Prison Farm, south of Perth.
They were convicted over a 2003 drug bust at Perth airport, where they were caught in possession of 2kg of cocaine.
Vukovic and Djurovic, who were last seen wearing prison greens, were serving eight year sentences for possessing cocaine with intent to sell or supply and their earliest date for parole was 30 April 2009.
The two men, both Serbians, were due to be deported to Serbia when they completed their sentence.
Police say members of the public should not approach the men, who are considered dangerous.
The state Opposition has said such offenders should never be housed in minimum security facilities.

"sorry that map ref was if you have a streetsmart street directory because thats what the cops use. [EDIT: Removed -- DB] they have gone to."
Dear doogues71,
Two very innappropiate postings here mate.
You should NEVER give out a location/grid reference that the Police are going to and you should CERTAINLY NEVER EVER give out the exact address.
If you and Mr G are going to continue to fill up this message board with postings to each other, perhaps you should do it on PM's.
This is a public forum and this guy with the chrges they are talking about with a large string on weapong charges etc 'could' be a serious criminal or OMCG member etc etc...
It isn't illegal to listen to scanners but it IS illegal to act upon the infomation heard.........
Does the moderator read these postings??

Tom,
Moderators do not read postings before they appear on the forums and don't have the time to sit here all day watching what people post. If you see something that you believe to be inappropriate then please contact one of the site admins privately and raise your concerns.
Having said that, I agree that a forum where some people may visit once a day or once a week is probably not the best place to discuss things happening in real-time. That's what we have the IRC channel for. The channel's mentioned in the FAQ (entry 11) but isn't too clear on how to access it. I'll make a change to that when I get a chance.
Also with your reference to "it is illegal to act on information you've heard" - this is a subject of dispute. While there's no arguments that getting involved and in the way is unwise (see FAQ entry 21), I have yet to see the specific part of any legislation that makes acting upon information heard on a radio to be illegal.
If you know the particular part of any legislation that states this then it would be very useful to add to the site's FAQ.
Regards,
