Cops on TV

Post by vk6hgr »

Hi all.

Right now there's a Cops marathon on Foxtel on channel 648.

We've got Cops from the US, Motorway patrol in NZ but we've never seen anything from Aussie police...

You must have missed "Aussie Cops" back in 1993 produced by Chan7.

Was only an hour long but followed 79 division and TRG. It's a bit long in the tooth now of course.

Walks.
I was there when they flicked the switch

Hi :)
I remember when ABC did the 'Kimberley Cops' show I think it was two years ago now, that was pretty good but it was only 3 episodes unfortunately. I didnt know we had an 'Aussie Cops' series mind you I would have only been 9 years old then! :P
We do have a few real life Aussie cop shows like channel 7's 'Forensic Investigators' where we get to see what police do 'on the job'.
My understanding of vk6hgr's post above was more the off-duty side of police...

Dear Kellie,

I too have just recently submitted my application to become a Police Officer - but i am branching out to the Police Airwing - I am flying as much as i can to get my hours up, but i have to tell u, that there physical trainning is full on - so i have started training for it at the gym, lots of cardio and weights.

Have you joined yet? or are you thinking of becoming an officer?

Hey,
Ahh yeh I forgot about that series..
I remember the Reality Bites-Police Training shows now, I taped it for my brother to watch as he'd just finished the public sector/ Police training course at the end of 2002 and was waiting for his interview in 2003..
I couldnt believe the fitness prep they had to do, it was full on. He passed it tho. :P
