One of the nurses in the NETS team tells me it is a rare situation for the lights to be used.

Quite often actually, mainly for transfers from outlying hospitals to PMH or KEMH.

Dunno if it was that one, or the first model, but I passed one going the other way over the level crossing outside Guildford Grammar School this morning :)

Thought it wasn't used much. If I recall the original vehicle just sat at PMH most of the time. If they're using it a bit more that's better, get a bit more value for money and free up emergency ambulances for other stuff instead of transfers.

This vehicle is crewed by a single officer Mon - Fri from 0730 - 2400. It is currently doing around 2-3 calls per day.

2-3 calls per day is way too often in my eyes!

At that rate I'm guessing they're just doing a lot of routine transfers that PTVs or ambulances would do. Since they have the fancy vehicle may as well use it. Justify it's use and purchase/donation by charitable money.

It appears to have the blue Government 'Q' number plates, which implies it's owned by the State Government, not SJA.
