On the 98 bus me and friends noticed two screens one at the front near the front door and one near the back throught the journey we were discussing what whould be on there we came up with
Bus transfer infomation eg. Esplande, Wellingtion
Route Infomation
poster infomation eg like the ones you see on the train
GPS moving map like on planes
Screens on buses

Re: Screens on buses
Where were the screens mounted exactly? Was it a newer type bus? Was this info actually on the screen or what was actually on it?

Re: Screens on buses
Ahhh yes, its fitted to TP1855 a Mercedes Benz 0C500LE bus. I to noticed this whilst walking by recently and popped my head in to speak to the driver.
I'm amazed that they are actually rolling these out hopefully on all new buses. The screen tell's you the next stop. Local bussinesses. Add's.temp. And if the wifi is on or off. And some other thing's that are apparently hush hush at the moment.

Re: Screens on buses
Apparently only 3 or so buses will be fitted for now. 1855 is the only know vehicle. IIRC and don't quote me, 3001 (MAN NG313F, A24) may be one of the other vehicles fitted out
6ST Base is clear, is there a mobile calling on this channel?
Re: Screens on buses
3001 is just stunning to look at. I've seen it a couple of times on morning runs and a couple of times on afternoon runs, just looks more futuristic.
Hopefully this new tech won't impact things like ticket prices down the track?

Re: Screens on buses
Wasn't this topic locked???
I havent heard those rumours that TP3001 are getting the screens as its a live vehicle, however I think the "new" TP3002 will get it.
TP3001 wasnt stunning to look at before, some tagger managed to 'tag' the rear panel of the bus at a subiaco event in broad daylight. Security didnt do nothing

Re: Screens on buses
Seems that the only SmartBus at this time is still 1855!

Re: Screens on buses
Don't think its going as planned. With the recent purchase of buses I think this has slipped down everyone's radar.6stbase wrote:Seems that the only SmartBus at this time is still 1855!

Re: Screens on buses
TP1855 is the only bus to have this. Although rumours suggests that the wi-fi has been removed and trial finished so who knows. It'd be good if they roll this out here to several buses. It may encourage more bus users for longer journeys.
