Difference with P1 and P2
Moderator: Bonez
A fatal will be despatched as a *15 and priority determined by POC.
When they switched from CDS to CAD a number of job codes were dumped to streamline the system. On CDS the first prefix generally did not bear to much resemblance to the task itself. The main difference with CAD is that the first prefix defines the urgency of the job.
CDS was created when there was no priority system, it used to be Category A, B or C (Much more fun)
Also FYI 8** jobs are for IMU
9** are forensic tasks

Thanks guys for all your input - It's all coming together nicely and blanks are getting filled
Would like to know if there are any descriptions for the following codes:
205/305
221/321
227/327
237/337
And if there are P2 jobs for codes 213,214,217,223,224,236,238,240,242,243,245,246,247,248,249,250 and 253.
The rest I am working out between everyone's contribution.
Thanks again all

Yes you do hear it (216 & 316) and you hear it from mainly old school coppers and you will even hear (sometimes) from the really old school coppers "we have a ward 19" the 16 codes no longer exist as correctly stated since the C.A.D. system came in.
101 and 201: a 101 is a holdup inprogress (offenders still there it's still happening) a 201 is a confirmed armed holdup the same applies to the 33 code (remove the words armed hold up although on odd ocassions a duress can actually mean holdup depending on the alarm company)
Panic Alarm and Duress Alarm are exactly the same again depends on the alarm company, its a terminology thing and nothing more.
P1 and P2: under a P1 there is no speed restriction up to 140 kph and there is no requirement to stop at traffic lights (red light) and stop signs if it is safe to proceed where as with a P2 there is. The vechile must be brought to a complete stop and the vehicle s not allowed (uses supposed) to travel greater than 20 kph above the posted speed limit for the area.
There is a couple more delete the 06 codes they dont' exist anynmore.
302 & 402: a 302 is a burg that has just happend where the offender has decamped (unlike a 307 where the offender is still there) and a 402 is more like a "I went to work at 8 and got home at 5 and my house has been broken into".
A 348 and 448 is check welfare.
464 is a standby job usually while a person collects property eg boyfriend girlfriend split up and girlfriend wants to collect personnal belongings and boyfriend has made some kind of threat or she is concerned for her welfare. Police attend and ensure the peace is kept.

Hahahahaha no I am notTom wrote:You sure your a P1 driver Walks??yeah priority 2 allows the officer to exceed the posted speed limit by 20 kph, priority 1 allows the police driver to exceed the police limit by 40 kph, to drive P1 you have to have a clean driving record with the police and undergo training and refresher courses, however i was under the impression only certain vehicles were certified to travel at such speeds which is why i was curious as to whether the GD vehicle VF105 was given p1?![]()

If P2 is supposed to only go 20km above the limit, why does VKI allow them to do 140km?just.nosey wrote:P1 and P2: under a P1 there is no speed restriction up to 140 kph and there is no requirement to stop at traffic lights (red light) and stop signs if it is safe to proceed where as with a P2 there is. I heard a priority pursuit driver ask to "exceed 140km" the other week - he was denied though but I think its an option?
Is there still such thing as Priority 1? I thought it was just Pursuit Priority now?
Thanks for any info.

P2 is only up to 20 km over. P1 and PP are up to 140 and yes there is special provision for the HQDO (POCC) to authorise a veh to exceed the 140 in special or extreme situations and it is extremely rare for permission to be granted although it has happend in the not to distant past.
To allow a police vehicle to travel anywhere close to 140 under a P2 is unheard of as far as I know but it appears you know something I don't.
My understanding that permission to exceed the 140 can only be granted by a substantive inspector (not an acting inspector) or higher.
Perhaps Chevy or Danny can jump in here and confirm or deny this.
Yes there is P1 although it is seldom if ever used these days, but it exists.

248 is not suicide or attempted suicide it is a Check Welfare (URGENT). Reasons for the Urgent Check Welfare could be where a Person has threatend to or is in the Process of Committing Suicide but that is not exclusive to the code.
Another that comes to mind if a child were to tell the police mummy's sleeping on the floor and wont wake up would definitely qualify as a 248 (P2) for at least one vehicle possibly for a 2nd vehicle and SJA would be called also.
