CALM Frequencies

Post by nickperth »

Hi guys,

I was paying a vist to Ejan communications a while ago and I was told that there is a good chance that CALM will be changing from The VHF frequencies it shares with FESA etc and going to UHF.

A) Is this true?
B) If it is true....why is it so?

Thankyou to anyone who may shed some light on this question.

Kind regards,

Nick :?

I suspect CALM will go VHF Hi-Band so they still have communications with the rest of the Fire Services when the WA Emergency Radio Network is in place. No doubt they'll have the same dual-band VHF/UHF radio's that everyone else will have.

Just a note on frequencies - the ones that CALM currently uses are licensed to CALM, not to FESA - CALM also owns and operates its own repeaters. Just happens that both agencies pool resources and can communicate on each others frequencies when necessary.
