Hong Kong Fire Service

Post by written_ficton »

Well, been up in Asia recently especially in Hong Kong. My hotel was around North Point where I came across a Dennis [UK company] Fire Engine on a call, interesting machine.

Taken from different angles, most a shoddy others are good. But the main problem is that your never going to a clear shot with the amount of people in Hong Kong!

Nice work! Good to see the Hong Kong Fire and Rescue can self recover their appliance and don't have to rely on a tech or someone else with a winch. That's one thing I'm surprised is not fitted to all fire trucks here especially BFS and V/C FRS light tankers

Great pics. Very interesting to see what other countries have.

Is that some type of monitor on the left hand side behind the cab?

LOL. I don't think there would be too many places where HK vehicles could go off road. I would guess the winch is more for recue operations (i.e winching one vehicle awy from another). The winch is a common feature on recue appliances over east.

:P true...but I still think all attack appliances that go on the fire ground should have them.

I believe that the screen you see is similar to what is in the American Fire Engines. Basically like Tardis, shows the destination, how to get their, traffic conditions, weather and more information on the call that they are attending

Or it could be something as simple as a screen for a reversing camera, which would make more sense as its facing the driver.
