Re: Remembrance Day contest - 15/16 August 2009
Made this a sticky for the next couple of weeks. You're welcome
A question for the experienced contesters. I read the rules.. I re-read the section detailing serial numbers (section 15) and to clarifiy for me, I assume that each entry in any log must have sequential numbering (ie unique numbers for any HF contact) and not for EACH band. Ie serial 001 for a contact on 29.500 FM then serial 002 for 7093 LSB. And then serial 001 in the VHF log for the first contact there obviously.
The reason I ask is that in the rules PDF there is an example log on page 5 where they are neither sequential nor unique in the one log...

I'm so far away from being an experienced contester that this is my first contest, however, that's what I thought was the case as the software I downloaded seems to work like that -robbage wrote: A question for the experienced contesters. Yep sequential numbers for all of HF.
The best logger I have found for the RD ( and many others ) is

Thinking about using the cellulose fibre log program for this one

For RD contest, it's easier to use a program specifically written for it. I use WinRD+ by VK6FJA:slipknot wrote:Or I guess theres Ham radio Delux....

Well that was fun! Congratulations everyone who took part in the contest, fingers crossed for WA again this year.
Those of you who stayed up for 24 hours, I don't know how you did it, but well done. Think I might spend tomorrow ignoring the phone and asking my workmates not to expect much chat from me.

Thanks Martin Our shack is just over 300 meters ASL.
A few peeps were in the shadow of the ranges for us though, and we caught a few people on Sunday morning that we missed on Saturday afternoon - different conditions on 2m even in that short time!

Re: Remembrance Day contest - 15/16 August 2009
I was getting meg 80db over 9 on every band.
I won't be manually logging next year... that is definitely not the way to do it
Get yer logs in!

Re: Remembrance Day contest - 15/16 August 2009
If only my HF signal was so good
I used RD Logger and that worked well for me - I could have three callsigns (my two and Simon's one) in the one application.
We really need a Mac and/or Linux based logging application though. I know some Mac developers whom I might have to plead with.

Try RD logger with Wine. I reckon it'll work. Is there a wine port for Mac?meg wrote:I used RD Logger and that worked well for me - I could have three callsigns (my two and Simon's one) in the one application.

Not that sort of port
