I rekon Mobile one is a good place to get indoor and outdoor scanner antennas. Dick smith used to stock them but I dunno of any Australia wide dealers, but they do mail order...

Re: ebay
Dick smith are pulling out of the radio hobbiest gear now... hard to find good stuff there. Even their range of CB gear is pretty average now.dazla wrote:I find what I need at dick smith most of the time, I have bought a bit of stuff on ebay too and saved allot of money doing it.

WACB Centre were able to sell me a Mobile One Stationmaster - a 27MHz base station antenna that most other retailers were telling me was 'no longer in production', but it appears WACB had struck a deal with Mobile One that 'if you keep selling 'em, we'll keep making 'em' so they were good from that point of view.
The whole issue of retailing of hobby radio gear is a sticky one: it's getting easier to buy gear on-line so the 'shop-front' retailers are becoming scarce. Enthusiasts (like the people on this froum) often know more about the radio they want to buy than the people who sell them (we read reviews and exchange opinions on-line), so it's a question of where and how it's cheapest rather than seeking advice.

Antennas
If people are having problems sourcing antennas I can hopefully help out. We stock antennas from handhelds to mobiles to base stations.
We carry a number of different branded antennas from RFI, Laser Antenna and Panorama as well as antennas and adapters for many commercial handhelds.
If you are looking for something specific and can't find it elsewhere please don't hesitate to see what we can source for you.
Regards,
