Re: Maddington Petrol Tanker Incident
Thanks guys.... Just glad for us in First Aid it was quiet, so managed to provide these updates and Pics for you.
Amazing what Static Electricity does around fuel....
G
UPDATE: Whoops - also forgot to mention - that before VFAS were on scene the SJA Clinical Team Leader was there as well in the new Subaru Forester. Disappeared after VFAS arrived and briefed on what the situation was.

Re: Maddington Petrol Tanker Incident
Yes it was - the heat from what we were told was intense and as you can prob see in some pics (although not the best quality) - the inside of the shop was severely gutted - the outside Stand where the fuel prices are displayed including the bowsers etc - all melted from the extreme heat.4353 wrote:Was the whole shop gutted by fire ?
The Gas Bottles (the ones we use for BBQ's) - also were scortched however, with thanks to the hard working efforts of our Firies none of them exploded, as well as the Large LPG Tank was untouched, however, initial fears, thought it was going to blow as well.

Re: Maddington Petrol Tanker Incident
Well considering I don't get paid for it, the events I get the opportunity to go to are rewarding. It's all about making a very small difference in the community - in helping. Even if you don't get anyone to apply First Aid too, your still there just in case.
Would I do it and get paid? I sure would, but there are a few things in the way - and don't think my mortgage could allow me to be un-paid for the 1st year as a Ambulance Officer.... - So I guess, I'll just keep doing what I do, and do it well.

thats a shame isn't it? the jobs which we absolutely love and have a passion for require a large financial sacrifice at times. for most people its the sole reason for not pursuing it.gkoutlis wrote: Would I do it and get paid?
