No, and yes. There are some vehicles in private collections and possibly in the Museum fleet that can be called on, but are only really used for private fire protection, with private crews. I know of a few in particular. There are also agreements in place with private Fire Services, such as Mines, and Airports.
they dont sell ERF trucks in Australia, so i doubt you would be able to get one set up as a fire unit, they still sell them in New Zealand, alot of logging company have ERF's
I think Scania and fire services around the world have some nice little agreement going on.
My old house in NZ used to be right next door to a nice pink shed, and inside it lived a Dennis fire engine, that used to get pulled out every weekend as a 5 year old kid it was always a buzz to get invited over to have a look at it.
I find it very true also and I belong to a hysterical society!
They can get a little keen , I find there are enthusiasts , nutters and my favorite foamer's (when they see they thing they like they foam at the mouth with excitement) always good for a laugh!
we had the ERF sitting on station for about 2 weeks, we get some of these trucks for the kelmscott show display. very nice when you look up at the close up.
