errr robbage I dunno how well my handheld will do with just the rubber ducky but will have a shot at programming in the freq and we'll see.

I bet it'll take them another couple of weeks. Do we want to run a pool? In any case, I'll try and remember to put my radio in my bag this week and next week and if it shows up on the database, I'll give a call

It only took the WIA 7 days to submit the stuff to ACMA and that was mainly because of the public holiday that it only got done by the 3rd. I reckon it will be a bit later in the week maybe monday/tuesday next week, but then things tend to work quite quickly in Aus. Compared to Africa anyway!

I reckon I can get Tic Hill from the balcony at work too. Now just waiting on the ACMA for the Tic Hill party

I use google earth and turn on the terrain option to see the height of the
land over my path to the repeater.

Also using a hand held in the CBD may be a bit frustrating due to pagers and commercial services breaking through.

Used to be based at DET mate so yep was in East perth for 14 months. Now out in Midland. When I came to visit you I don't think I'd been out of DET for long...in fact if it was a friday which I think it was then it was part of my final days of Service desk...the favourite bit...4 days off!
Tic hill...ooo will have to look that one up.

I think (from the descriptions of it on the net) it's at one of the quarries or similar along Toodyay Rd in Red Hill. Hopefully Midland isn't in the shadow of the hill from it, but the frequencies are here:

In a map making company I called on the greater powers of Google maps and ACMA. ACMA list the license as Tic Hill in Herne Hill which lists it as Great Northern Hwy area North of Middle swan Road area but south of where Gnangarra road would come meet with it.
edit: Were we going to use 70cm or 2m? seeings the site has both.

I recommend 146.800, since the 70cm side seems to be unwell at the moment.

WARG are in the process of organising to have someone visit the site to try and find out why 70cm has gone quiet, but it's on someone else's land that needs prior arrangement to get access to, so it's something that takes a bit of planning

Oh yeah, 2m. Like Zebedee said, Tic Hill 70cm is offline, has been for as long as I've been relicenced. I think I heard a repeater party is getting together in the next week or two.

Plus I only have a 2m handheld - will think about a dual band at some stage...
