Well done Tyranus and Meg! Talk to you in about 10 days or so. Any hints what callsigns you chose?

I've asked for VK6FLUX - they told us it could be 3-4 weeks before our registrations come through though.

It certainly took longer than the exam did!
Well when you only take about 6 minutes to do the exam not much can be faster!!!!

Thanks Zeb and Rob, I've put down 2 preferences 1st VK6FTYR 2nd VK6FWDH.
Now time to go through the cd's I got a while ago and look at either the standard or Advanced.

Yeah 4 weeks is a good rule of thumb - 2 weeks-ish for it to go to the WIA, and then another 2 weeks-ish at the ACMA.

Sometimes it happens quicker, sometimes it takes longer. Just the luck of the draw and how many other exams and licences are being processed at any given time.

Now the daily checking of the ACMA Site begins ;)

Zebedee, what do the WIA do with the paperwork.. I assume they process the exam results and stuff? Do they issue the C of P? It took about 8 days for my callsign to appear on the database but I already had a certificate.

The CofP and the licence are both issued by the ACMA, but it's the WIA who run the examinations, which is why the results go back there first.

The one that would have taken 5 letters, not four.

Has someone actually said something to him?

I missed the first part of the WIA news, but did hear Denis read our names out as new F licenses :)

Yep, ZMS spoke to him the first time. It was too close to the news to bother with him this time.
Yep, heard your names read out as people who passed the examination. I didn't hear that guy's name, so dunno what the deal is there.

Maybe someone should send a email to Dennis outlining whats been happening and so he can make a subtle hint during the news about it and maybe the point will be made. Until a license is issued, the person is a pirate and should be treated as such...name and shame on air to warn people as is usually the case with pirates.

He might have done the exams the week before - heard Denis say he didn't have those names to hand.

Or he could be a random who's bought a radio and not done anything about licenses...
