Shire Vehicle Photo Shoot

Post by SamW »

Today all the Mundaring Shire fire vehicle got together for a photo shoot. I am not sure what the photos are going to be used in, but I took a few for myself. We were only missing a couple of vehicles, and the Mundaring ICV was also there but not in the photos.

Some of these vehicles include Parkerville LT and 3.4U, Mt Helena LT and 3.4U, Mundaring FRS, Sawyers Valley Lt 1 and 2, Glen Forrest LT 1 and 2, Stoneville Lt1 and 2, Chidlow Lt and 4.4R, Darlington Lt and Darlington Support and the new 'Shire Of Mundaring' LT, for the deputy chief to use, V8 of course.

That looks like Darlington LT1 on the far right with the ally bar over the beacons, and it looks like our support vehicle to the right of it.

I don't know what make car it is but I think it may be a Hilux? Tyranus can provide more details. I think it is used to tow the collar tank trailer, also I think the vehicle was provided by Hamersley Iron?
The deputy's vehicle I think was provided by FESA, but I am not sure. I think it is the latest model of the new Light tankers, as it seems to have some upgrades compared to other V8 light tankers. Sorry but I can't really be that much help with these questions. I will try and get some photos of his new Light Tanker

Just did a double check, yes it is an old Toyota Hilux donated from Hamersley Iron. Sam quite correctly suggested it is used by the collar tank team to move the collar tank. Is also used to transfer crews when taxi's or SES aren't available such as after the Kalamunda fire.

Think it's actually a Landcruiser. Main duty is for Collar Tank and Air Support.
