Its a real bummer not hearing anything, i have a daul channel scanner in my car.. drive around all day for work and listen to it and it helps me avoid crashes and general fwy bank ups. The odd car chase brighten's the day , beats listening to the radio.

I can see the towie's switching over and listening to the fire dept and ambo's more than they use to now, thats what i'll end up doing for car crash avoidance.

note i did hear channel 54 and 50 pop out a couple of things today.

Issue is SJA doesn't say anything about jobs.

FESA rarely say the address either, just say they are turning out

I was under the impression that they transmitted the job location and priority?

If thats true alot of their priority 1 calls to intersections etc would be accidents.

You talking SJA or FESA?

SJA will say "Priority 1 in Warwick" and thats it - and the problem is they go priority 1 to almost everything!

FESA usually say where they are going but not always and they only say it once so you dont want to miss it.

^^ This man speaks the truth. Listening on the way in this morning only a couple of FESA vehicles confirmed attend addresses. SJA is next to useless to listen to.

SJA got tired of tow trucks racing them to the job and giving out 'confidential' information over the open airwaves. Good for ambos having CAD (computer aided dispatch), whatever information is entered on the job is sent to the responding van. Bad news for scanner listeners and ambulance chasers
