Uniden Scan + tomtom 500 =

Post by impdxn »

The greatest combination ever :). I wish I had bought a tomtom 500 ages ago. Now it so easy to see where the Officers are being dispatched too. I bet I even probably have it up on my screen before they have it open to the page on their street directory.

They should really fit the WAPOL vehicles with these things, they are sweet.

Disclaimer: I use it at work on my desk while I'm listening to my scanner to see where calls are at. I don't use it to go chase the Officers to the scene. I personally am against this as you’re more likely to be a hindrance or even worse get yourself or the Officer injured by being there.

PS: I got the thing mainly for my car to navigate where I'm going lol, it just happens to work nicely in combination with my scanner too ;)

Its a GPS navigator. Can be brought on its own or preinstalled with hardware. The brand is big in the US but just starting to flow through over here (Hardly Normal, etc now stocking them)

marto.

Really depends on brand and size of screen :? There a bit little mobiles...heaps to choose from and some your really paying for the name.

There are ways of creating them yourself by buying the gear individually i.e. I have a pda mobile, all I need is a GPS antenna/software and away I go

BTW, Tandys had TomTom with 3.5" screen for $750 in last cat.

I got my tomtom 500 from Harvey Norman @ City West for just over $1K. If you happen to want one, talk to Daniel there. Great guy and really helpful.

Found something even better... TomTom makes a PDA version of there software available which works on my Treo 650. So now I can just use my phone which I carry with me anyways to navigate.

Now if I can just manage to get the TomTom 500 returned :)
