Helitacs have also departed. Made an impressive sight seeing 4 helitacs , carson and intell fixed wing all flying in convoy back to jandakot
Seems to be a few sightings of this lot heading for Jandakot , was this confirmed by radio also? I would find it quite surprising if thats where they were headed as all the Helicopters are based at Perth AP.

Is Jandakot closer to the fire ground? Might just be going there for the night. But surely if sited in the city area would be heading to Perth AP?
Darlington LT1
Sawyers Valley LT1 heading to fire, left around 10pm, only 1 crew requested.

Biggest fire, i've ever been to.

To begin describing it ... I don't even know where to begin?

biggest fire front, Biggest plume of smoke? it was just massive.

and burnt uncontrolled for so long, we kept suffering flare ups in the camp area.

The airsupport played a vital role in killing it, it's just a shame they can't stick around into the night.

Few pics to follow tommorrow.

Kalamunda 2.4 and lt4 were at port kennedy at this time. i turned out in the kalamunda 3.4. for the zig zag incident we just supplied water to bassendeen and midland pumps who did all the work. but on our way back to station we saw a large plume of smoke coming from a glowing patch of bush to the south of the zig zag we went to investigate and found a large fire in forrestfield that was threatning several houses. it was windy as all hell down there and i must say it isnt pleasant to be wet in such winds... it was freezing! at the forrestfield incident were:
2xGosnells L/T
Gosnells 7.2
Bassendean FRS
Midland FRS
Maddington FRS
Kalamunda 1.4 3.4 ICV and 3 L/T's (one was kala FRS)
2?xDarlingtonL/T
Welshpool 2nd
and Perth 2nd
i probably missed a few too....

i did the 10pm to 6am shift at the port kennedy fire. biggest fire i have been to aswell although i only been firie for 4 weeks.

when i arrived there wouldve been bout 8 or 9 police cars parked in the harvey norman carpark aswell as the 30 odd ses. saw appliances from kalamunda, sawyers valley, mt helena, belmont, daglish and the usual suspects at south fires.

just looked out my window and it appears there are a couple of flare ups again, the wind is being quite difficult
