The original post said trial. I imagine they're seeing if they would make a good replacement for the LT.

FESA has been pushing to replace Light Tanker's with 1.4's for a while now.

I heard the same. Hence the proposal for the 1.4 Rescue. (Would do away with the LT and RT combo.)

Hazard a guess... Hope Valley, Success or Midland considering some of the calls they attend?
Might be the answer for some outlying stations?

so those little 4wd cars that you always see are the LTs ?-
and are they really any good? or is just their small size can get in anywhere to brush fires? They do not look like they can carry much water.

Yes, the follow up landcruisers are the light tankers.
600 - 800L usually depending on the age and who you talk to. They carry enough (though more water is always good, it's just the weight) and they're all a lot of stations in the hills have. Might not be so useful in structure fires due to the capacity, but the pumps won't get half way up a hill to put out a fire.
