88 at ZIG ZAG - Scenic Drive

12:23am KM control advises make 4th Alarm, requires another Pump & light tanker to turn STRAIGHT out to CH 97 and John Farrant Drive Asset protection reprting to SO Walker.

12:25 KM Control changed name to ZIG ZAG Control.

12:26 Midland stn turning out to Zig Zag incident ( John Farrant drive).....

12:27am 6IP advises ZZ control of weather report on BOM website.

FESA have a alert on their web page for this one...

Gooseberry Hill Fire Contained - Issued: Sunday, 24 February 2008 1:58 AM

FESA advises that the three bush fires burning in Gooseberry Hill are now under control, however residents should remain vigilent incase the situation changes.

Crews are working to consolidate containment lines and will spend the rest of the night mopping up and monitoring the area.

Forty-five Fire and Rescue Service and Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade firefighter have been busy from 10.50pm, protecting lives and assets.

The three fires merged and it is estimated 15 hectares of bush land was burnt.

John Farrant Drive between Ridge Hill Drive and Grange Crescent; and Lascelles Parade between Tella Street and Ridge Hill Drive will remain closed for most of tonight.

That area burnt only last season.

That fire was on the North side of the ZZ - this one appears to be the South side near the first lookout and closer in to houses.

Haven't heard the Helitacs in an hour or so - very little smoke - looks like a 7.2 and 3.4? taking their ease at the first lookout.

Darlington was paged at 5.50. Turned out. Second shift was at 10 and got back onto station at 3. For the last couple of hours was working up with Maddington around Kalamatta Rd

i did the initial turn out 11 pm to 6 am and then third crew between 12 pm and 6 pm. .... the fire was largely inaccessible due to terrain restrictions and that DEC decided to burn quite a few pockets of ground after we busted a gut trying to stop it burning. and luckily there wasnt too much in the way of a sea breeze. great updates Mr bush fire fighter, its a shame you couldnt make it... the welfare was great :)

Just got back from patrolling the incident, we left with Kalamunda LT6 and their 1.4, which left Perth Second patrolling until dawnish. Hungry Jacks for dinner!
