000 Work will always be to SJA thats something that cant and wont change and as said before it would take 7 years to change over and implement.

As with PFO/Herpes/and our eager kyle prehospital care is something we are all into and ensuring the right care is delivered is something we are passionate about :P

And the good n bad stories are all fun to share ;)

SJA over the next 5 years will change over to a state run ambulance service. This will be a great thing for prehospital care in WA. It will be a start to national competencies that everyone will have to comply with. It has happened all over the country. One day SJA are operating their service, the following MAS, QAS, etc... are fully operational.

Not sure how it would work, but more services and more qualified staff only benefits patients. Sounds like paradise.

But thats where I live. Hehehehe

Gday all,

When are they going to remove the term Industrial Paramedic. It absolutely
pisses me off that someone can do a 5-6 day course and call themselves a Paramedic. It may be an intensive course, but it lacks clinical placement and I believe that the pass mark is 70%. Id hate to have something wrong with me that remained in the 30% that they failed in.

Industrial Paramedic is a real term, but this allows people to call themselves Paramedic. It has the potential to totally confuse the medical profession, patients and the general community.

For example, if I had a cardiac patient and I told a Doc that I have a non-stemi and inform him/her that I am a paramedic (being an industrial) he/she will be under the impression that he/she is qualified and that they know what they are talking about.

Dont get me wrong I am not knocking Industrial Paramedics, just would prefer better job description titles

I was under the impression that SJA were to change the title of this qualification to Industrial Medic.
