So I think this is right based this of the recruitment PDF.
Paramedics at SJA earn a average of
$1239 full qualified weekly ..
Based on a
38hr week that is
$32.60 hr
Shift penalties are
$24.25 hr
So if you were to do overtime the hourly total rate shft penlt + Base is
$56.85 hr
Does that sound right..
NO!!
If you take the base rate of $921.64 and divide that by the 38 hour week, you get an hourly rate of $24.25.
Shift and other penalties are then paid on top of that rate.
Overtime is paid at twice the hourly rate ($48.50)
This information is current until June 2008.

Really? I'm a chalkie and I haven't voted for or against the acceptance of a new offer as one hasn't even been offered to us. In fact the SSTUWA has just today given us a new directive because the DET has not provided us with a new offer.
Methinks you should check your sources.

I thought a settlement had been made must have misheard the information.. Well I hope the Union get a fair deal for you. Teachers are well deserving of a payrise..

Wrong on both accounts me tinks....
Ambo's have nothing to to with government so they certainly aren't "next inline"
but yes the negotiations for the next EBA period are about to commence.

I'm not re-entering SJA..
I thought about it however wounds are too deep to heal..
There are nicer services out there & I have great opportunities ahead.
