Kyle wrote:Hey Markmywords and fellow paramedics.

I have a couple of questions. At the moment I have been looking at Physiology &Patient Assessment Exam Techniques.

The four are Inspection, Palpation, Percussion, Auscultation according to Mosbys.

In regards to Auscultation, listening for Abnormal Sounds, respiratory sounds for example

Ronchi, Wheeze, Bronchial, Rub, Crackles, Branchavesicular, Vesicular.

Do you know of a website or resource that I can listen to do gain a idea of what these respiratory sound like. :?: NYERRN

Also I'm looking at basic medications as well, Indications & Contraindications. If anyone knows a very good book or website on drug dosage calculations and drip rates would be helpful. :?:

I would like to try and familiarizes my self with the basic medications new officers would be expected to administer.

What do beginner Ambulance Officers train to administer when they first start out in the paid service. :?:

sorry rescue10 but you did state sja vollie without elaberating, i take it you did your degree for sja in the NT in what year assuming that these studies encompass aeromedical medicine and was your rfds work out of jandakot?.like i said insurances would have been an issue. You must be a midwife as well with 5 years experience in ED. All the above, you must be really old :D

State registered ? Is that true ? just wondering because there is no ambulance act in W.A so they wouldnt need to be registered maybe health department approved for work when they do it.

I didnt think that the Health department would allow first aid attendants to look after intubated patients. Bit off a worry when the phones not answered.

When they had the RFDS contract then yer definatley wouldve been a confirmed Health Department Supplier.

Yes paramedic registration in Oz would be good, i know you can get some form off EMT registration in Oz but thats only if you do one off the courses that makes you an EMT A or EMT B or EMT something haha.
