Well driving under emergency conditions you only do so what is "safe and expedent" to do so.

No one can force you to go faster than your happy with, i know someone who drives @ the speed limit on a P1 haha regardless.

Did you do many P1 calls at alas or is that in your "agreement" you cant discuss :p

Kyle wrote:I was a Ambulance Assistant (like a Ambulance Driver in SJA) and Event First Aider for ALAS. [I do alot of reading and self study though, particular like Emergency Care on Streets by Nancy Caroline] I started as a Vollie at ALAS then went paid. I have finished working for them. I was only there for a short time. Made three great friends. One of them was a South African Critical Care Paramedic and he was brilliant and taught me heaps.. (-:. Helped me rebuild my confidence in the field, a truly great individual.

I have re-activated my SJA volunteer number today and found a Sub Centre in looking into enrolling in a PAC.. when one becomes available.

I am looking forward to it. The fellow Vollies I've met seem really nice. I want to be a paramedic one day... However not in WA as the other state services ie: NSW & QLD & TAS pay you from day 1 according to the recruitment information. It would be impossible financially to not work for a year. Got bills to pay like most people. .
