A fair bit of smoke in the northern suburbs on Saturday - was this a bushfire or a planned burn off?

I don't have my scanner on me but is there a major fire in Perth at the moment? I see a bright orange sky and smell smoke

Not me :) . Are you sure they were 'network' news crews? As far as i know none of the TV stations roster crews beyond about 7pm (our last crew is 1800). After that Turbo & Chromii provide all of the over night news vision. Apart from them, I would be interested to find out who else was filming :?

there was 1 bloke turn up taking photos, as well as two other blokes rocked up and were filming. The guy helping the camera operator had a sunday west tabard on. The footage was shown on channel 10 tonight. i have met turbo and dont think it was him.

So are you saying there were two video cameras being operated, or one camera with an assistant :?:

Must say "sunday west" doesn't mean anything to me.

There was 1 guy with digital camera by himself. There was also two guys together filming. 1 on camera the other assisting with cords. The guy assisting with cords had the orange tabard with sunday west on. Thought it was the sunday paper but wouldnt know why they would film. No one said anything to them and were only there for about 10 minutes
