Not when all the majority of UQ's have the stripes, no.

I believe its to 'make more of a presence' in the community. They have similar stripes/colors to TE highway patrol and also some of the local traffic cars ala AN204, which isn't a crash car, just traffic but obviously can be used for both).

Now I'm confused, marto I'm guessing you mean the red stripe like AZ251 and AZ250: http://warsug.info/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3177

but I'm guessing Toottoot isn't talking about that stripe, more like the UQ & TE multi red/silver stripes?

No, the UQ cars have different marking, marked much like a HWP car, but with red stripes instead of fluro orange. Major Crash and Crash cars have the single red stripe. I believe UQ vehicles belong to ROGS, some to the watchouse and others to railway unit in both Rocko and Perth central train stations.

The major crash, traffic , hwp etc have red stripes which must be to make them more visible at traffic incidents, cd cars to distinguish at major incidents (?maybe), but why do uq need them? arnt they just the maylands acadamy cars?

As said there are a couple based at a few other places as well as Maylands. And CD cars are completely unmarked so no ;)

Maylands academy no longer exists. Joondalup is where the academy is now, they have the WT*** callsigns I think. I think they just give people a sense of presence within the community, plus a higher visibility for incidents etc.

Well Walks can confirm or deny, but going from memory there *was* one CD vehicle that was marked (CD512?) but I haven't heard of it for a while? (Was this one or a similar one written off?).

Either way my money's on 90%+ of CD's being unmarked.

EDIT: hrrmm yeah a lot of speculation I think we should wait for Walks or someone to confirm
