jmmw,
no offence, but I take everyone's comments with a pinch of salt unless that's their specialty, i.e Walks with Police related stuff, fastlane with Fire etc. Good on you for thinking that he was sus. So did I but I gave him the benefit of the doubt till proven otherwise. Just as I have done with everyone else on here.

it was used this morning in the bentley area. not sure what was going on as only caught a bit of it and looking for a stolen phone calling and making threats.AV201 wrote:and right now vehicle giving VKI the mobile number, to try this triangulation...
he said she made 1 call to the landline from her mobo and its around X time...
VKI cant really do anything at the moment...as the bosses are all in a meeting at the momento
must be pretty good as VKI said it was around the kensington fire station at one point
missing person was in a park...they found her and SJA on route as she cant breathe...wizzard wrote:it was used this morning in the bentley area. not sure what was going on as only caught a bit of it and looking for a stolen phone calling and making threats.AV201 wrote:and right now vehicle giving VKI the mobile number, to try this triangulation...

Styles can be applied quickly to selected text! meh!
I think this missing person was treated as a high priority as obviously she was not too healthy or in a correct state of mind. As when they had any information to her wereabouts the vehicle would call it as urgent. Also when her wereabouts was found, a priority was given to the car to get her as they had insulin, however that didnt work and SJA were called.herrgott wrote:Used a bit off-radio as well for bigger jobs.
Does work wonders, depending on the carrier. And the Inspector at the time, depending on his willingness to spend the dollars.
Hope I got the facts right as thats what i heard. I wouldnt be too far off the money..
Cheers
Cheers for the confirmation mateMarkmywords wrote:AV201 pretty much right on spot she was having what seemed to be an asthma attack-VKI was asking the officers that they should have a ventolin in there oxygen kit (but im sure he meant first aid kit) kwinan attended and treated 62/82 no transport required.

IMEI Tracking
Not sure if this is the same method you guys are talking about however, there is a way of tracking mobile phone handsets to within a 4ft radius which is called IMEI tracking. Now please anyone that knows more about this then me correct me if i am wrong but from what i know is this: Each mobile handset has a unique "IMEI" number also known as the handsets "International Mobile Equipment Identity" number. This can be tracks through certain government's departments (Not sure if the WA Police have access to it, i assume they would with prior permission). This is the method we often see on TV with the "Trace the phone call" situation. Once the IMEI number has been acquired the search works like this i believe. The signal from your mobile handset to all the "repeater" antennas or whatever they are called it bounces around each one you are even getting a slight signal to and narrows it down to a pretty accurate location. AKA it find how strong the signal strength is etc from all the different sites.
I found this pic which might help understand things better:

Anyway not sure if this helps i hope it gives a few more ppl a bit more of an idea whats going on.
Regards
-Mike.
