Hi Guys,

Um it sounds ok, as long as there are no legal issues or that sort of thing if we did go ahead with the idea. Perhaps we should look into that side of things too?

Here's my thoughts..

To make the whole idea purposeful, perhaps we should base it more on the 'safety perspective' of things. Send an SMS when an incident that is taking place could pose as a danger to others.

For example: High speed Pursuits are certainly a danger to pedestrians/ other traffic on the road so we could 'warn' others of the potentially dangerous situation incase they happen to be in the vicinity at the time to take extra care and be aware of the potential danger.

Another example: Traffic accidents tend to cause a traffic build-up if not
road(s) to be blocked off altogether. If we sent an SMS to make others aware, we could avoid adding to the burden by using another route for instance. By doing this it not only puts a meaning to the idea (other than sticky-beaking  ) but could save yourself and the cops from unnecessary stress and/or becoming part of a dangerous situation.
If we set something up based on the idea of safety, it could appeal to more people to get involved I reckon.. hope this helps :D

PS. What does 'sticks' mean Millsy?

All you'd need to do in your SMS is to use the police code and the frequency =

"CODE 315, 468.150"

Qld police code 315 = street disturbance .... etc
