you're looking roughly from 2300-0500. I have seen one northbound out of the tunnel at 2am before though. Thank God I was doing the limit because that would have been really embarrassing!
be gentle, I'm new to this!

Resurrecting this topic.. what is the threshold of a multinova? Will it flash you for doing 5k's over the limit??

I was doing 61-63 in a 60 zone (haven't yet learnt to 'lock in' on a speed, so i vary a bit +- 5k's on the limit) when it flashed at us with a red light.. not sure if it got us or the car a little ahead of us, but its still got me a bit spooked..

Read this from the police website - http://www.police.wa.gov.au/Services/Tr ... entNotices

Or the short of it is:

Penalty for offence captured by speed camera:

Exceeding the speed limit by more than 1km/h but not more than 9km/h = $ 50 nil demerit points.
Exceeding the speed limit by more than 9km/h but not more than 19km/h = $100 plus one demerit point.
Exceeding the speed limit by more than 19km/h but not more than 29km/h = $150 plus three demerit points.
Exceeding the speed limit by more than 29km/h but not more than 40km/h = $250 plus four demerit points.
Exceeding the speed limit by more than 40km/h = $350 plus six demerit points.

No one really takes him to seriously.

As for speed camera's what everyone position on flashing other motorists if you see one? wanted to bring this up for a while but been a bit nervous that everyone will get worked up

Personally i flash my headlights until im off the street.

Personally i don't do it.. but it seems the same as the radios listing the locations.. I think its like alot of things, its technically not allowed, but it happens, they know that, and take that into account when setting up.

I personally asked this question to the operator at the Academy open day, and he informed me that anything over the legal speed limit is speeding and can take the snap.

Which pretty much ties into the above 1-9km/h fine section.

I never flash oncoming traffic, they deserve the fine. Also it is an offense to do so.

I think we need some more good will on our roads.

Flashing someone to give them the "head's up" about a speed camera let's people know that we're not all on opposing teams. Lets face it not all of us are constantly watching the speedo and i have looked down countless times and found that just keeping up with the traffic flow in front of me has me 10 kph+ over the limit and i am very thankful of other road user's who do flash their lights to "remind me" that i should be doing the speed limit.

However i dont flash imported loud cars because im prejudice against wankers.

While I've been saved a couple of times by flashers, I'm willing to accept responsibility for a fine and loss of demerit points if I'm caught speeding. But I'm not too keen on getting a fine from the unmarked cop car that I do flash while they're having a particularly bad day. Neither can you rely on someone flashing you for a travelling police car with mounted radar. If you speed and you're not caught then lucky you, if you speed and get caught it's your fault. Nobody is perfect and hence why the operators do bump the speed up on their camera's to allow for speedo difference etc. Or even some manufacturers are calibrating the speedo's at 5k's under, one of the guys from my fire station thought his speedo was wrong because it was 5 k's under what 2 GPS's were saying, but Suzuki confirmed that it was right.
