Heard 2 chases on south west metro last night....

1 very short one, in pursuit of a car stolen during a burg. Spotted shortly after look out to be kept for broadcast. Aborted very soon after due to car going wrong way up tonkin and polair being down for 30 mins.

Then a short while later another lasting probably 30 mins. I think it was a VT commodore from memory. CD car took over pursuit and polair were above the whole time, following and filming. Car ran many red lights, however most marked by police cars, and went on the wrong side of road many times, however polair had them lit up and there were not many cars around. Chase aborted for a short time, however polair kept them in sight. Chase ended when driver lost control. POI ran to a nearby garden and hid, then jumped their back fence and attempted to climb a tree, before being apprehended by TK officer and dog. Sole female occupant in custody!

BOMB!!!!!!...... or is it just a lost bag

Post by Lucas_arts_182 »

today at perth traino the was a complete closure of all trains , around 2pm i was on my way home with 2 mates and there was UQ and GC car every where and when i asked what was going on the police replied " we dont know , our radios arnt working " i knew this was bull shit and later on there were several announcements "do not leave bags unattended"
- only the trains were stopped
- the cops werent saying anything
- and the announcements
i thought it was a bomb scare but that leaves the question ..... WHY BOMB A TRAIN STATION ON A SUNDAY and i didnt see the bomb squad....
anyone else see anything?

Those announcements are heard all the time mate, doubt that has any linkage to what happened...be interesting if someone knows whats going on..as they do NOT stop all trains unless the package has been confirmed and classed as suspicious, IE a ticking sound being emmited from the package etc. Otherwise people would call the TP infoline and prank em all the time...and the trains will never run

My source from the PTA tells me that there was a bomb threat that was taken very seriously. If you see something say something (complaints) and to the Antiterrorism hotline. Transperth took immidiete effect into making sure things were ok! and good on em...However I would be bloody pissed if I was heading to the footy! haha they wouldnt have missed out on much as the 1st quarter freo got their ass beat
Another reason why you should always leave early to expect and cope with delays!

The big question is..did the PTA go too far? should they have shutdown the lines?

I would guess it was taken more seriously than others due to the fact some explosives were stolen recently. From memory I think it was 6 that were stolen from a workers truck that were being used on the new train line...
