normally from what I've seen, they have lights on the back, and on the front and through the rotator on when required. Maybe the suction caps lost suction. *shrugs*

Hi all - Not sure if i posted about this before on this section, but as i finished duty with VFAS on Friday night (AFL - Subi Oval) - I noticed a Ford Territory completley unmarked - with a hec load of antennas one plain clothed officer and one in WAPOL uniform - with Strobe lights on the inside of the passenger sun visor - and LED's at the back - Has anyone else seen this????
Looked impressive at night, and i only got so close, as I was about to get into the driver's seat of the VFAS First Aid post - so yeah noticed the strobes on the sun visor where 2 circles - one red and one blue.... So hope someone can shed some light.....

Another curious one. I just saw on the freeway a late model bluey/grey Nissan patrol on a traffic stop. It had LED`s front and back in the windows but was otherwise unmarked and it also had a number of white boxes (equipment?) mounted on the roof. It kinda looked like it also had an extendable mast or something similar amongst this gear (kinda like you would see on a TV O.B. vehicle). It seemed to be crewed by plain clothed officers.
Unfortunately i heard no odd callsigns at the time i was passing so thats all the info i have. Anyone got any idea what or who this thing is or does ??

Sounds like Major Crash squad (or whatever they're called).Always RX wrote:Another curious one. I just saw on the freeway a late model bluey/grey Nissan patrol on a traffic stop. Yeah thats kinda what i was thinking Wes. Something to take pics and video with at a T/A scene and perhaps survey equipment for measurements etc. I was passing pretty quick but im almost sure one of the white boxes had glass covered circles cut in the front of it just like it was a camera. I am sure someone here can confirm this for us but i like the way your thinking

It sure was Tom - definatley - with only two guys in. Plain clothed guy driving, uniformed guy passenger. He was right along side the First Aid Merc that I was about to get into to drive back to HQ... so yeah - know anything about it?Tom wrote:Was the Territory white MrG?
Seen RH201 (Harvey) today in East Perth. White XR6T with HWP markings, VLB and spotties.

The gear on the roof of these Major Crash 4WDs are mobile lighting towers. Similar to the TV news link vehicles, they have a telescopic mast with high powered lights on top, so they can light up crash scenes at night. You can see them coming and going from Traffic HQ in East Perth.Always RX wrote:Another curious one. I just saw on the freeway a late model bluey/grey Nissan patrol on a traffic stop.
