Midday'ish there was a pursuit on West Coast highway (i believe the vehicle was a ute of some sort).. was aborted a few times, and driver was also seen driving on the opposite side of the highway.. Ended at Karrinyup Shopping Centre, where the driver was promptly detained by police just after 12pm.
One thing i heard was VKI asking for a damage report on all pursuing cars once they had the driver in custody.. I assume that would be something to do with the paper-work, and perhaps using it in court?

I thought (maybe Im wrong) - that VKI usually asks if there is damage to a Police Car or the Poi's Car - so that he can dispatch the On-Road Supervisor to assess the damage.... Im sure someone will correct me.xli wrote:Midday'ish there was a pursuit on West Coast highway (i believe the vehicle was a ute of some sort).. was aborted a few times, and driver was also seen driving on the opposite side of the highway.. I cant believe no-one has posted the chase that went on last night. Started in vic park and ended in karrinyup. Went through the city, yokine, up wanneroo road, down to the freeway.
However it did end rather tragically. NH104/102 (? - only one of them) was blocking the intersection and the stolen car hit them. One officer injured and both taken to hospital.
Hope the officers are both ok!!!!!

Hey Bobby,
Yeah I watched that chase as it 'whizzzzed' past the Warwick Interchange just before 2300, I had a good view. Mainly unmarked cars involved from what I saw, although I did see a few cars from various districts involved....TEG's, UQ's, TK's...etc..etc..etc..etc..etc..etc..etc..etc..etc..etc..(you get the picture
).
I did see NH102 blast past but it was a distance back.
Ended up at the Karrinyup rd off-ramp, hit an unmarked car.

I can imagine that there were a 'just' a few cars chasing it. Given how many areas they went through, there would have been cars joining in constantly. After the number of times they had to abort due to them going wrong side etc etc, you could tell that they weren't going to give up.
I have to say that I feel rather sorry for the lady and her husband to whom the car belonged. Its not like they can just go and get themselves a replacement tomorrow!
And to the occupants of the NH car. (And Luke, it was def an NH car, maybe they got themselves an unmarked car recently..... def NH though....)

I love the chase footage on the news last night of the MIG XR6T with it's fog-lights shining..I wonder if the coppers in TE201 which was also shown gave them a ticket...
Sort of like that pic that appeared in Inside Cover of the West Australian recently with the Cannington car parked across 2 disabled bays at Carousel Shopping Centre.
