As far as I know they dont use the poles anymore.. From memory (firefly?) they have a bar across the entries upstairs so you cant use them (OH&S).

Fastlane - I also heard that they weren't used coz of OH&S considerations (people doing knees etc)
The USAR truck went up north for the cyclones earlier in the year. It looks a bit old if you ask me!
