According to a report on news.com.au, basketballer Luc Longley has lost his Fremantle house overnight to a fire. However everyone got out of the house safely which is the main thing...

See here for the article.

As horrible as it would be for Luc Longley to lose all his sporting memorabilia, compared to the second story you could say he got out with all the things that were *most* important to him.

Still ... wouldn't be nice either way.

A83 Scrub fire, zone 2, katherine st, helena valley, X Noel st, inc 73827 - PLS Ack #.

Midland Pumper & LT, Darlington LT 1, Darlington LT 2 (me), Malaga medium pumper.

Turned out to be a grass fire with a few trees in the way. 2 1/2 hrs with all crews on fireground, then Darlington LT 1 & 2 stood down.

After that can't wait for my swim training with SES :P

It's only 1 line, and I can touch type, so time isn't really important.

Guys i was out and about conducting a few flights from Jandakot yesterday, and was asked to hold taxiing to allow 2 fixed wing water bombers priority to take off on runway 24R - around the time of 12:30ish - can any one confirm what they were used for???

Also - for the info of all members - (in case its useful) - The company refueling the Water Bombers and Helitacs with Fire Retardent is Dunn Aviation. (useless piece of info, but i thought i'd let you all know)

Just received notice from Pacific National that entire terminal is evacuated. No time given for re-opening. Must be a bit bigger than small for this to happen. Normally they just corden off the particular area.

Dunn Aviation only does the fixed wings, on contract to DEC/CALM. The Helitac's and the related support infrastructure are operated by Helicopters Australia.

(and for what its worth, they only carry water/foam - retardant isnt carried by the helitacs at all, and only by the fixed wings in special cases and usually only for DEC in the southwest)

The 2 fixed wings did one drop each, as did 2 helitacs.
