I would love to tune in Hektik but i also seem unable to peer with WAIX ( whatever the heck that means) . My isp is Bigpond. Seems a shame to use a medium that a whole bunch of people cant access. Not a critisism , just an observation... as im sure you have your reasons.
Happy peering.
ps The Kal channel sounds good here...nice work dOt.

Open in your browser www.waix.net , if it doesn't open you can't access WAIX.
The user's location states NOR, which I read as North of River. Therefore, dependent on how close to the coast, 51 may be the best, otherwise 57. There are issues along the Northern Suburbs coastal strip. Also Ch30/50 is actually the same frequency (though may have different CTCSS, can't remember) and Bindoon sometimes comes in handyup that way. Also, 25 can be handy in patches.Fastlane wrote:Ugh, in the metro area should be 57 or 55 and 25.. 30 is waaaaaay out in Bindoon, 80 is in Jarrahdale and 51 is in Claremont but only covers the strip along the coast...kylep wrote:You should be scanning Channel 57 or 51, depending on location, and possibly 30/80. If you need the relevant freqs, then let me know.
I listen in occasionally on your scanner, but would love to hear more Fire traffic.
I drove around most of perth for 2 years listening to all of these channels, so have a fairly good idea about it, as well as being a firey for many years over there.
Being VHF, the aerial being used and its location also plays an important role.
