Surely as a firefighter you DON'T want fires occurring?
youthful exuberance?
anyone know where there may be a largeish fire at present? There is a bucketload of smoke about up here today.. I'm assuming its blown in overnight from elsewhere.

i wrote that because our brigade hadnt recieved a call in 3 months and we never get used by the frs but now we are for some reason and our future is unforseeable at the moment also i also like helping the community
I put the question in because, even though I'm a vollie, I would rather we are not needed. (ie people not lighting fires, crashing cars, spilling chemicals etc) It wasn't to point fingers or anything like that.

CW101, that was a once off- a technicality- they didnt ask for us, they asked for a 2.4 and thankfully 6IP made the mistake of thinking we had one otherwise we wouldnt have been called, instead Canningvale 2.4 or South Coogee 2.4 would have been called out instead.
That depends what shire it is in of course, and the availability of FRS appliances. If the fire was in Town of Kwinana, they have to use an appliance from your shire before they use another shires BFB..
Trust me fastlane, its in the shire of kwinana and they still send out success or rockingham first as 2nd alarm before they even turn out the Kwinana VFRS.
Example, there was a fire in our old area, hope valley and succes were there, and there was a car v house in parmelia, and rockingham 1st went there, whilst the Kwinana VFRS vehicles are sitting unused in the station.
Still, other bush fire brigades (south coogee) is still being called out before us even though our station is 5 mins away and its in the town of kwinana.
Its strange how i get a different reading/understanding of your posts
Did anyone else get that fastlane was only referring to bfb???
