Sad deceased body discovery at Curtin

Post by gkoutlis »

Hi all;

Came in to work to find out that a young person has passed away at one of our Engineering buildings.

The discovery was made last night - this has caused alot of shock and sadness here at Curtin.

There are alot of Crime Car's here as well as Forensics - and a few others - investigating the circumstances.

So if anyone is studying at Curtin, please avoid the Engineering Building 211.

:(

Isnt that what I said in the above? - anyways - it was close to the Basement Cafeteria....

Information release to Staff/Students:
Note to Students and Staff from the Acting Vice Chancellor, .

It is with deep regret that we inform the Curtin community that there has been a sudden death on campus overnight. This has resulted in an area around Building 205 and the Basement Café having restricted access, and the Basement Café will be closed this morning. Many classes in Building 205 will be cancelled this morning and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

UPDATE: Incident on Bentley Campus - Thursday 16 November 2006
It is with deep sadness that I confirm that the student who lost her life early yesterday morning (Thursday 16 November) was a CIC (Curtin International College) student.

The student has been identified and her family in Hong Kong notified.

The CIC community offers its heartfelt condolences to family and friends.

The Police have confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
Just an update from our University - its pretty sad - her family on their way to Perth.... :(

No suspiscious circumstances? Does this mean natural causes or was it a suicide?
