Why is this topic being changed now? And not deleted all together?

If someone wants to come on here sprouting of about a coppers speed

a.) By the looks of an old picture, the radar you are using is a Silver Eagle and a good 5-7 years out of date.
b.) What is it to do with him, its none of his beez wax what speed the cop is doing, you dont know what his duties are so leave it be. He is not accountable to you.
c.) Anyone can buy a mobile radar, if your that way inclined
d.) Getting trained in using a mobile radar is alot different than rather just buying one and using it
e.) when was the radar last calibrated

All of these questions should be asked and answered before he posts on here a coppers speed.

Come on moderators, get onto deleting posts quicker....you wonder why several coppers dont post on here anymore....

I agree, that's why I generally don't delete posts or topics. It's a discussion board, after all :-)

The moderator's job is to (try!) and keep conversations on topic and basically make sure that everyone on the forum enjoys themselves. Moderators aren't judges, our job isn't to weigh the evidence in a post and determine if it should stay or go.

The deleting of the first post in this topic was by the poster, not a moderator or admin.

I agree completely with your comments about radars, Danny. Also there is much about the case that we simply don't know, such as the possibility that the driver of the vehicle was attending a job urgently in the only car he had available at the time.

As far as police members posting on this forum, I welcome your contribution and insight now and in the future. However, I'm not going to change the light-touch moderation policy of the forum to become pro- or anti- any member or group of members on this forum. All posts are at the discretion and responsibility of the poster, and they have to deal with the repercussions thereof... :-)

By the looks of it danny it was edited not by the mods but by orca himself after recieving possibly alot of abuse from other members. As Brett has said this is a general area topic and my belief is orca did have every right to ask a question he may not have asked the question the right way and it could have come across wrongly. That we dont know. I know it from experiance that you type something and to myself it has sounded right but to others it has come across as wrong.

Also, moderators and admins don't actively read every single post in every single thread.

I've said it before ... if someone has a problem with a posting, raise it directly via private message with a mod or admin and we'll take a look as soon as we reasonably can.
