I agree with chrissss, if police didnt go to these noisy parties and it was left to the complainant to go and have a confrontation (Whether a polite verbal request or otherwise) with the party goers in every instance, then i think Police would be wasting more resources in the long run. Whether thats having to be dealing with an assault or if the party spins out of control.

Plus just showing up and letting their presence in the area be known, would be a deterrent to any party goers that wasnt to act up than the police rocking up all of a sudden when things are getting a bit arced - and thus requiring more resources to deal with the situation.

Right i hope that makes sense (I have been Known To Ramble Non-sense :P)
Just my 2c for good measure.

Cheers,
Froggles.

True and it probably is a pretty inconsequential type of job compared to what else the police have to do.

But as Gavin said, there's a lot less neighbourliness around nowadays than there used to be (I think I'm on a roll for inventing new words tonight!)

Probably as recent as 10 or so years ago, you could hang your head over the back fence and ask them to turn it down yourself, nowadays you'd be just as likely to cop a mouthful of abuse or have something thrown at them. Better to take the safer option of having the police do it instead.

Thats why I think these weapons laws are stupid. If they party goers know you have a weapon they wouldnt be so cocky when jumping your back fence.

A man should be able to defend himself in his own home I think. Just an opinion.

GC101 wrote:i think neighbours have to give and take abit i mean on saturday night, if its a once and awhile thing then who cares if your kept up, now again again there are parties near my house that stop me from sleeping, but its rare, so i dont care, you have to give and take when you live in a society, on the other hand i had a neighbour that used to play loud music at very late hours all the time and during week days, now that pissed me off. i agree people have to realise that police are VERY short on vehicles and have an over supply of jobs, before calling police think is this a once of? is it after 1am? can i call the local security? police shouldnt be called if other reasonable soulutions can be taken...
I am in 100% agreeance with you there, GC101. Once in a while is fine - get over it. But every day? NAN please :D

It was actually the use of 'agreeance' rather than agreement - i thought i may give friendly little nudge about that. I then asked Dr. Google about it and he gave me some rather in depth history on the word, so i retract the previous statement

Anywho, back on topic would probly be a good place to head next.

Have u ever listened to the scanner on a friday and sat night late at night??? There is so many 328s and 428s (342's and 442s) that its not funny, how do u expect 1 or 2 cars to attend them all, whilst neighbours have to put up with all the noise, especially those with babies :?

Exactly my point, it is out of control. So much valuable Police time is soaked up by these small jobs.

By my reckoning if you could take all of those minor jobs out of the equation on a Friday and Saturday night you would have about twice as many Police available for more serious jobs.

I don't know the answer, but something needs to be done.

Any ideas guys?
