Wasted Police Resources
I was at a party on Saturday night. Basically a bunch of 35-50 y/os professional types in fancy dress (lol).
The music (mostly 80's with some disco classics mixed in) was pretty loud.
So at 2am the Police roll up, they were nice about it but told us a neighbor had complained and can we turn the music down. We did straight away. I guess no one realised how late it was!
My point here is this, wouldnt it be much better if the neighbor just came around and asked us to turn it down? Or maybe the ranger?
After listening to scanners I have realised that Police resources are constantly wasted on loud parties. Perhaps local council should step in freeing up valuable time for real Police jobs?

You are VERY right but most people don’t like face to face confrontations and get others to do itKanye wrote:I was at a party on Saturday night. Basically a bunch of 35-50 y/os professional types in fancy dress (lol).

Have to agree. There's no way I'm going to go to a neighbour's house at 2am. Even if they're nice people, you add alcohol and/or drugs into the mix and I risk getting beaten up.BLiNG wrote:That would work well until a Ranger gets his head kicked in (not saying it would happen at your party) but attending alcohol fueled events where someone may just lose the plot it is much more effective by Police then rangers/council.
Obviously that wasn't the case in this party, but how would they know?

Good point. We are all pretty respectful people and it is clearly true others are not.
Perhaps a special "Party Police" unit could be developed. One or two cars that just attend noisy parties? If things get out of hand, then they can call in other Police resources.
That might take pressure off general Policing?

Well if you go like a bull out of a gate you are going to have trouble. I find its all in the approach, but then it depends on the situation and so on. We are all individuals and will deal with things in our own way and make our own judgments.vk6hgr wrote:Have to agree. There's no way I'm going to go to a neighbour's house at 2am. Thats crap, the police shouldn have said who complained because thats how shit that happend to me occurs. Next thing ur property is being vandalised for pay back till the only thing u can do is leave or get hard evidence. It might not occur in this case, but it does happen and its crap, because its the law abiding citizens that get penalised for doing the right thing.

Yeah, they didnt say who complained. But you see my point? What a waste of valuable resources.HM-106 wrote:They said the Neighbours have complained, didnt say in particular who, the person third doors down could i complained and the police would of just said the Neighbours have complained etc etc....

i disagree with everything uve sad in this topic kayne except the neighbours being snobs
it may be that one time to police dont go round and it could turn ugly eg: neighbour could go mental and start hurting partyiers thats extreme but yer
or the neighbour getting injured usually when ther all wasted they dont want the party to stop, the rangers dont have weapons and im not even sure if they work 24 hrs a day
after all isnt the polices job is to keep the peace.....?and usually it takes them 5 minutes anyway i know when ive been to partys and theyve came they just say hey guys can u please turn the music down we do they say thanks and say have fun and leave
