Accident on the Kwinana Freeway - Traffic Chaos

Post by gkoutlis »

Goodmorning all,

Not sure if you all heard yet on Channel 8 - 468.025 - But apparantley (unconfirmed) a vehicle went on the wrong side of the freeway - South Bound Lanes of the Kwinana Fwy - Underneath the Mill Point Road On Ramp Bridge.

This has caused a major traffic chaos - Traffic is banked right back to the Mitchell Freeway - South bound - The vehicle slammed into a truck.

The truck is reportedly blocking 2-3 lanes of the south bound lanes of the Kwinana Fwy. Not sure on injuries.

Vehicles from Kensington, Cannington and the city were called in to help out - reports came in to VKI by confused witnesses saying the accident was Northbound - but AJ103 confirmed it was South Bound. SJA also attended.

The remaining vehicles came in on Priority 2 - to get through the traffic - And had to move all traffic off the Kwinana, so they can move the truck and the car off the Freeway.

AJ-705 - Is trying to find the tow truck to assist. - Is requiring more to assist.

He has asked that the tow-trucks to respond urgently, - He wouldn't say why - but i assume that Traffic is really bad.

Went past on the way home from Garden City about an hour ago, saw AJ251 and about 3 bikes still at the scene.

Thanks for that Tom, Yeah - i heard that they still would be there - They are actually investigating it - cause aparantly the vehicle that hit the truck was on the wrong side of the road.

So did you manage to see anything while you were there apart from the Police Vehicles?

Was the truck and car still there????
