A Bit Disturbing???....

Post by fastnfurious80 »

Dont you guys think its a bit disturbing that you all have a bit of a fixation on tracking the whereabouts of WAPOL activity, and then posting threads on here pretending or imagining that your in the middle of the action, calling a pursuit for example?

Its just not normal, ask around and tell people about your hobby and bet 99% of them think its more than a bit strange.

Just curious as to what you honestly think....

I don't really appreciate your term - "Tracking" - i personally dont think its disturbing at all - Its an interest that most of us share - No one here is pretending or imagining being in "Action" - If its not normal, then why are you on here??? :?

Tracking, Audibly Following, Monitoring, getting excited when you hear anything more than a domestic, whatever you like to perceive it as.

What I'm talking about is where you have almost minute to minute reply's from people during a pursuit, obviously tracking the progress.

And as far as why im on here, I came across the forum while doing a simple search on WAPOL and the Academy through Google, took a look, had a read of a few threads and comments and started to feel that some of you are borderline at best.

And quite possibly a minor or major reason why WAPOL is moving their transmissions to ENCRYPTED digital.

Its as bad as the tow truck drivers or as I like to call them 'seagulls of the streets' monitoring the channels and then driving at rediculous speeds to attend a traffic accident. Even to the point where the losers put a sticker on their front quarter panels "Priority 1".... what do you make of that! These guys even think they are now Pursuit Drivers!!! classic!

Its borderline insanity and I honestly think if any of you sat a WAPOL psychological interview and discussed your fixation you would be disqualified immediately.

But mate, even your signature block is disturbing to me....

With all due respect - You are entitled to your opinion - However the members on this forum see no big deal with what we post in regards to certain events....

You to me sound like your a cop - I don't have anything against anyone, however this is simply a hobby - I am sure none of the members ever act on the information on here to go to the location and be a nusance.....

Don't come onto this forum accussing us as being a part reason why WAPOL is switching to Digital - Maybe you should check your facts properly before coming down as if your the authority....

Mate - If i were ever to join WAPOL - I know I would get in straight away as I have met all the requirements that they ask for.... and if it wasnt for my Flying and going for the RFDS - I would prove you wrong so quick.....

There are few police officers on here (WHO WILL REMAIN ANNONIMOUS) - So are you saying if they post here - they will be disquallified???? :?

What you need to realise tho is not every person who uses these forums have scanners to be able to hear up to date info. So as an alternitive they use these forums to get as up to date info on the events that may be happeining around them. For example if an armed holdup has happened then resulted in a chase would you like to know where the offender is and direction of travel so you know to stay well away from that area for your own safety. Not everything that gets heard on the scanner gets reported on the news so some of the events that get put on here you may never hear about unless you have read it here.

Here we go again another hitman or byte in disguise...Image

Isn't it just a pity that some of us on here have passed the psych interview isn't it...but that was 7 years ago.

I think you'd be suprised to actually find out how many serving members are on WARSUG and contribute here..

Maybe fastnfurious80 - you don't know the extent of what I do - And if you cant work that out - then im sure someone could disqualify you ???

Unlike the sledging which you are doing, I put my self out there to help people - Yes I am talking about St Johns...... - So does this cure your disturbance in my signature????

Why stir up a forum with so many good people on it - What is your problem???? :?

I must say that at first i thought this was a bunch of weirdos too...having images of nerds with 50 scanners strapped to their purpose made harnesses with 10ft. antennas sticking out, comparing their gear at meetings and that sorta stuff.
But then i realised that it's just a bunch of enthausiasts doing the things they like to do.
Hey...different strokes for different folks.
As long as these people don't interfere with the work of wapol, ambulance and fire services I don't see anything wrong with it.
When i sit out in the backyard at night having a smoke and i hear sirenes going somewhere it's kinda cool reading about it on here because a lot of things aren't being shown on the news.
These people obviously care for the community..otherwise they wouldn't give a rat's ass and there'd be no warsug.
On the 7th day...god created the turd
On the 8th day...Ford made it move

I had the same thoughts as Angus in regards to the nerd comment. I guess thats one of the reasons why I wanted to organise the meets that have happened so far to see if my thoughts were right. I never realised how wrong one persons thoughts can be until I met up with some of the members of this forum. Every member I have had the privilage of meeting are great to be around and a far from nerds. I cant wait to have the privilage of seeing those guys again and see some new faces.

Fastnfurious, you're entitled to your opinion of course, but I'm going to lock this thread for the simple reason that I believe your opening comments are likely to provoke a flame war with unpleasantness and name calling all round. (It doesn't take much to offend people on the Internet!)

If you care to glance at the top of the webpage, you'll notice that this site is all about "Providing a voice for responsible scanner users in Western Australia." Nobody on here promotes or condones any action that hinders the work of our emergency services.

If you're interested in finding out what this site's really all about, then I suggest you check out some of the other threads in the different sections of the forum. If you're not really interested in who we are and what we do, then thanks for stopping by and offering us your opinion. We won't detain you any further.
