Do WAPOL deserve their pay increase ?

I'll be the first to admit there's a "yes" vote from me, but if were gonna shot down anyone who votes "no" whats the point of the poll??

The heading said "do the WAPOL deserve a good pay raise", not "do the WAPOL deserve a good pay rise and give your reasons"

Its real hard being an "Emergency Service" during EB negotiations as it limits what actions can be taken so anything you can do and "get away with" good onya guys hang in there

i am simply asking if anyone who voted no, can they justify there reason(even if it did sound like a demand) I am not telling anyone they MUST justify there reason

I agree that the police should get a pay rise.
Just as a comparison, I drive buses and get paid $20/hr

The coppers are getting paid $2/hr more than me

I work in the security industry (yes, I love my job), and only get $17, have to put up with similar conditions to police at times, I have been bashed, had broken jaws, noses, black eyes, and even a stab wound from about 4 years ago, and not to mention all the gang violence in the last couple of years... I have worked at a couple of different venues now where guns and knifes have been used... (don't ask for details as I will not provide them). And when I carried a firearm for cash and vulable transit, we got $18.50 an hour, and the risks doing that are high.

Not trying to take anything away from the police, they have a shit of a job to do and i'm behind them 110% for a pay rise, But I guess it would be a reasonable statement to say that for the most part alot of them hate security guards / Crowd controllers, but on the other hand without us, their job would be so much harder...

Mate Im in the same industry so i know how u feel and my vote was yes that they do deserve a payrise
