Thought I would start a thread about the RD.
so.....No.1 obvious question, who else is joining in this weekend?
I know I will be....Only just found out that you can actually use AM along with SSB and FM.....I'll be interested to know if anyone is using AM.
Penny for your thoughts....

This contest commemorates the Amateurs who died during World War II and is designed to encourage friendly participation and help improve the operating skills of participants. It is held on the weekend closest to the 15th August, the date on which hostilities ceased in the southwest Pacific area.
It is preceded by a short opening address by a Guest Speaker transmitted on various WIA frequencies during the minutes prior to the contest. During this ceremony, a roll call of amateurs who paid the supreme sacrifice during WWII is read.
The perpetual trophy is ordinarily held by the WIA at its national office and is inscribed annually with the name of the winning State or Territory.

Not to worry, Does anyone know what time it starts? I saw on the WIA's webpage that it starts at 300z. Not sure if the Z is referring to UTC time.

That was fun. I operated from the Hills Amateur Radio Group using VK6AHR.
We made around 600 points as well as having a great time socializing.
