Worst Looking Police Station

Post by westernwedgey »

Was wondering on peoples thoughts or suggestions as to the worst looking police station in Perth and Regional WA...

And why ie age, size, disrepair, bad design, plain ugly etc...

Perhaps the winner could be sent a can of paint to tart it up from Warsug

Hit the nail on the head there GC101, I've always thought that the income from speeding fines should be allocated to the police first and the left over to the coffers...give them all the resources and pay they want

This of course goes to the other emergency services aswell...

Agreed. A bit like state schools actually, the new ones are really flash but the old ones are shocking.

I really think its about time they replaced Police HQ and EPLU or Perth Watch House as its now known.

I heard talk of a new HQ last time I took a badie to PWH but I dont know if it was out of the rumor mill or not.

Dazla I heard the same thing and the old traffic office up the hill is going as well. I believe that staff maybe relocated to Midland which will see T.E.G. and B.A.S. move to Midland.

I believe the East Perth building is to be, or has been heritage listed because of the design of the building, however the building has got concrete cancer so what will eventually happen is anyone's guess.

At one stage there was talk of the building being changed into a hotel and the following:

1 The Commissioned Officers move to a new address in the CBD.

2 The Offender Information Bureau move to Midland

3 The Perth Watch House move to Curtin House however I believe issues have been identified with is and this idea is to be revisited.

The only problem with Midland is it can't house the horses or canine section due to health issues associated for both and they can't go to Joondalup

Isnt Midland a bit far away from the rest of Perth??

I would've thought Maylands would've been better considering its more central to everything....

And if OIB move to Midland, does that mean officers would have to travel out there to pick up a warrent to serve on an offender that was just arrested in Fremantle?

Yes Dazla it does. I agree Maylands would be a better proposition but it's million dollar real estate and you know what that means

My vote is for Curtin House (it certainly does have a certain cold dank appeal) and the good ol' Wanneroo copshop...

It's a shocker to say the least...
